Victorian Emerald & Old Cut Diamond Necklace, circa 1900
A magnificent pendant necklace. Featuring a square cut Colombian emerald which is surrounded by rose and old mine cut diamonds in a pear shaped drop. The extraordinary finely crafted middle panel resembles, to us, a butterfly. This links to two half crescents which are attached to a fixed platinum chain. In oxidised silver backed in gold.
Cut – The emerald is a square step cut with rose cut and old mine / miner cut diamonds.
Colour – The emerald is a deep verdant green, with H colour diamonds.
Clarity – The emerald has natural inclusions, which is normal for this gem. The diamonds are VS.
Carat – The emerald is approximately 1.25 carat, to 41 diamonds add to an estimated total of 2.15 carat.
Circa – 1900.
Measurements – The pendant, without the chain, is 44mm long. The chain is 16″. (This can be shorted if you would prefer.)
Metal – The pendant is oxidised silver backed in 9k gold, tested. The chain (which is no original to the piece) is hallmarked platinum.
