Victorian Moonstone Cat’s Eye & Diamond Ring, circa 1880
A glorious and glowing antique moonstone ring. The luminous centre stone displays a lovely cat’s-eye (aka chatoyancy), encircled by twenty-four white rose cut diamonds set in darkened silver, leading to a slim and tapering yellow gold shank.
Cut – Cabochon moonstone and rose cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are H to I.
Clarity – The diamonds are SI1 to SI2; all the stones are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The moonstone is approximately 3.5o carat, with a total approximate diamond weight of 0.24 carat
Condition – The discolouring to the gold can be polished away if you prefer.
Circa – 1880.
Size – N 1/2 (UK) or 6.75 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can be sized up or down.
Measurements – The head of the ring is 12 x 12.25mm and sits 7.1mm from the finger.
Metal – The gems are set in oxidised silver. The rest of the ring is 18k gold. Tested.
