Victorian Sapphire & Old Cut Diamond Carved Half Hoop Ring, dated 1896
A striking late Victorian five stone ring, with a trio of deep blue sapphires interspaced by two pairs of high white old mine cut diamonds. The beautifully carved gallery and shoulders lead to a 18k yellow gold shank. A striking example of an antique classic.
Cut – Cushioned cut sapphires and old cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are G.
Clarity – The sapphires are eye clean. The diamonds are VS1.
Carat – A total estimated sapphire weight of 1.30 carat and an estimated diamond weight of 0.12 carat.
Dated – 1896.
Condition – Some damage the girdle to the centre sapphire; this cannot be seen with the naked eye doesn’t effect the stability of the stone.
Size – L (UK) or 5.5 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can be sized up or down.
Measurements – From the edge one outer sapphire to the other is 16.8mm. The ring is 6.6mm at the widest point and sits 3.5mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k gold. Hallmarks from the Birmingham Assay.
