Victorian Sugarloaf Sapphire & Old Cut Diamond Cluster Ring, circa 1900
An utterly charming coronet cluster ring. The high domed sugarloaf sapphire in the centre is a deep navy-ish blue with flashes of cobalt. Ten high white old cut diamonds surround the centre stone, with a further eight (four each side) rose cut diamonds running down the shoulders of the slim band.
Cut – Sugarloaf cabochon sapphire with old cut diamond in the surround and rose cut diamonds in the shoulders.
Colour – The old cut diamonds are G. The rose cuts in the shoulders are J.
Clarity – The sapphire is clean to the naked eye. The old cut diamonds are VS1 to SI1 (all are clean the naked eye). The rose cuts are SI1 to I1.
Carat – The sapphire is approximately 0.80 carat, with a total approximate diamond weight of 0.48.
Circa – 1900.
Size – Q (UK) or 8 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can be sized up or down.
Measurements – The head of the ring is 9.8 x 9.5. The top of the sapphire sits 7.9mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k gold. Tested.
