Victorian 5.60 Carat Cabochon Emerald & Old Cut Diamond Ring, circa 1890

An extraordinary ring with real history and character. The natural Colombian emerald was, we believe, originally worn as bead and later removed to have this ring custom built around it. The emerald itself is just the most perfect blue-ish green and is snugly set in a circle of twenty-two high white old cut diamond. Very pretty stylised fleur de lis motifs and a intricately pierced gallery are the finish touches to beautiful and unique piece.

Cut – The emerald is round cabochon. Diamonds are old cuts.

Colour – The diamonds are G to I. The emerald is bright medium green.

Clarity – Natural inclusions are visible in the emerald, which is to be expected. The diamonds are VS2 to SI1; all are clean to the naked eye.

Carat – The emerald is approximately 5.60 carat. The total estimated diamond weight is 1.20 carat

Circa – 1890.

Condition – The emerald is drilled through the centre from where (we believe) it was previously threaded onto a rope or chain.

Size – O 1/2 (UK) or 7.25 (US). Complementary sizing is available, can be sized up or down.

Measurements – The cluster is 19.75mm by 19.65mm and sits 8.5mm from the finger.

Metal – The shank is 18k yellow gold. The gems are set in silver.
