Art Deco 8.68 Carat Natural Ceylon Sapphire & Diamond Cluster Ring, circa 1940

A dramatic and impressive ring. The natural, unheated Ceylon sapphire displays a bright light blue and is veritably aglow with life and fire. Eighteen transitional cut diamonds surround the centre stone, with the four slightly larger diamonds at each “corner”. The edge of the cluster is set with a fine line of deep blue step cut sapphires, atop a beautifully detailed under gallery to a plain white gold shank

Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmoligical Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.

Cut – Cushion cut sapphire in the centre with rectangular step cut sapphires in the surround. The diamonds are transitional cuts.

Colour – The diamonds are G to H.

Clarity – The main sapphire is loupe clean. The diamonds are VS2 to I1.

Carat – The central sapphire is 8.68 carat, with an additional approximate 0.84 carat of sapphires in the border. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.68 carat.

Circa – 1940.

Size – M (UK) or 6 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.

Measurements – The sapphire is 12.94 x 8.79m. The head of the ring is 19.9 x 15.3mm. Sits 8.5mm from the finger.

Metal – 18k white gold. Tested.
