Georgian Garnet & Black Enamel Mourning Ring, dated 1832
A tantalising glimpse into the the past. This ornate Georgian mourning ring holds a special cut garnet in the centre within a border of black enamel and ornate yellow gold framing. The ring is dedicated to Hannah Whittaker, October 26th, 1832.
Cut – Special cut cabochon garnet.
Carat – The garnet is approximately 0.30 carat.
Dated – 1832.
Size – J (UK) or 4 5/8 (US). Cannot be sized.
Measurements – The ring is 10mm at the widest point.
Metal – 18k gold. Hallmarks from the London Assay, dated 1832.
