Art Deco 0.68 Carat Old Cut Diamond Articulated Drop Pendant, circa 1940
A really, really pretty pendant. A fixed diamond in a buttercup setting leads to a drop of seven further diamonds of graduating size, rubover set, in an articulated “chain”. The bottom most diamond weights in at approximately half a carat. Perfect for everyday, but of the class and quality to be worn at the most formal occasions.
Cut – The bottom diamond is an old mine / miner cut, with eight-cut and transitional cut diamonds above.
Colour – The bottom diamond is M. The smaller diamonds are H.
Clarity – The bottom diamond SI2. The remaining diamonds are VS1.
Carat – The bottom diamond is approximately 0.50 carat, with an overall estimated diamond weight of 0.68 carat.
Circa – 1940.
Measurements – The pendant, not including the hoop is 24mm. The chain is 16 inches.
Metal – 18k white gold. Tested.
