Art Deco 1.23 Carat Old Cut White Sapphire Earrings, circa 1925
A bright and impressive pair of vintage earrings. Each earrings hold an old mine cut white sapphire – an usual stone which glows in a way that a diamond doesn’t. The white sapphires are rubover set in milgrained white gold and sit within a drop-shaped white gold frame. The bottom half of the earrings hang from a lever-back fitting, fronted in milgrained white gold and set with three rose cut diamonds.
Cut – The two main stones are old cuts, the smaller stones at the top are rose cuts.
Colour – White.
Clarity – Loupe clean.
Carat – Each of the two main sapphires are approximately 0.60 carat, with a further approximate 0.015 carat in each earrings (0.03 total) in rose cut sapphires
Circa – 1925.
Measurements – Not including the lever back settings, the earrings are 24mm top to bottom. The old cut sapphires are approximately 5.2mm in diameter.
Metal – 18k yellow and white gold. Tested.
