Art Deco 13.00 Carat Fancy Pear Sapphire Pendant, 18k Gold, Italian, circa 1930
What an incredilby rare find! We’ve never seen a sapphire of this cut before; a pear shape with matching facets on either side. The stone itself is a lovely rich, regal blue with flashes of violet. The pear hangs from two delicate rose cut diamond leaves which is in turn link to a simple diamond set hoop. This magnificent peice looks fantastic when worn.
Cut – The sapphire is fancy pear. The diamonds in the foliate detailing are rose cuts and the diamonds in the loop are single cuts.
Colour – Diamonds are H.
Clarity – The sapphrie is an SI2, The diamonds are VS. This is a natural and untreated sapphire, so some inclusions are visible
Carat – The sapphire is conservatively estimated at 13 carat. The total approximate diamonds weight is 0.30 carat.
Circa – 1930.
Condition – Excellent. The chain does not appear to be original to the pendant.
Measurements – The sapphire, including its metal surround, is 12.7mm by 15mm. The length of the pendant from the top of the loop to the bottom of the sapphire is 31mm. The chain is 16″.
Metal – The chain is fully marked as 18k (white) gold. The other componants have been tested as 18k white gold.
