Art Deco Onyx & Old Cut Diamond Drop Earrings, circa 1915
A fine and elegant pair of Art Deco earrings. Each earring is topped with a 0.15 carat (approx.) bright white old European cut diamond in a platinum shield-shaped setting. Hanging from the top diamond is a beautifully shaped drop featuring an elongated triangular and slightly convex piece of onyx which flanked by three rose cut diamonds at each long side, and a small rubover set old European cut diamond at the top. All the diamonds are set in platinum, with the reverse of the earrings crafted in 18k yellow gold.
Cut – The diamond directly above the onyx and the large diamond at the top are old European cuts. The other diamonds are rose cuts.
Colour – The diamonds are H to I.
Clarity – The diamonds are SI1 to SI2. All are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The large diamonds at the top of each earring is approximately 0.15 carat, with a total approximate overall carat weight of 0.43 carat.
Circa – 1915.
Measurements – Not including the earring wire, the earring is 23.25mm long. The earring is 8.8mm at the widest point.
Metal – 18k gold and platinum. French hallmarks.
