Art Nouveau 8.35 Carat Opal Foliate Ring, circa 1915

An immense Art Nouveau ring. The glowing opal in the centre shows an impressive play of colour. The stone sits at the centre of a wonderfully crafted setting, with stunningly intricate foliate detailing. The top of the ring appears to have started life as a brooch and been converted into a big, bold dress ring (probably circa 1965). A fine example from one of the early 20th century’s most influential jewellers.

Cut – Oval cabochon.

Carat – Approximately 8.35 carat.

Circa – 1915.

Measurements – The opal is approximately 19 x 14mm. The head of the ring is 43 x 20mm and sits 14.3mm from the finger

Metal – Stamped 14k – 14k yellow gold and tests as such.
