Art Nouveau Opal & Old Cut Diamond Pendant, circa 1905
A mesmerically beautiful Art Nouveau pendant. At the heart of the piece, and set in yellow gold, is a 2.50 carat (approx.) opal which displays an almost unreal play of colour, with clear and lively shows of green, yellow, orange, and red. A further two opal sit above and below the main stone, with thirty-seven diamonds set in the elegant platinum scroll work surround.
Included is the original platinum trace chain, measuring 16 inches (40cm).
Presented with the original fitted tooled leather box.
Cut – The diamonds are old mine cuts, eight-cuts, and rose cuts.
Colour – The diamonds are H to I.
Clarity – The diamonds are VS1 to VS2.
Carat – The opal main is approximately 2.50 carat, with two approximate 0.25 carat opals above and below. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.32 carat
Circa – 1905.
Measurements – The pendant, not including the bale, is 35 x 24.5mm.
Metal – Platinum. The back of the pendant is 18ct yellow gold. Tested.
