Edwardian 0.22 Carat Old Cut Diamond Engagement Ring, circa 1905
So utterly lovely. This wonderful antique diamond solitaire features a cushion shaped old mine cut diamond set in milgrained platinum in a square/diamond shaped collet. The platinum shoulders are set with a round rose cut diamonds and conform to a slim 18k yellow gold shank. A beautifully balanced, beautifully crafted ring.
Cut – Old mine cut in the centre, with rose cuts in the shoulders.
Colour – I in the centre, G in the shoulders.
Clarity – VS2 in the centre, SI1 in the shoulders.
Carat – A known 0.22 carat in the centre, with a further approximate 0.06 carat in the shoulders.
Circa – 1905.
Size – J 1/2 (UK) or 5 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can be sized up or down.
Measurements – The central diamond, including its setting, is 5.3 x 5.3mm and sits 4.1mm from the finger.
Metal – Stamped PLAT 18CT – indicating platinum and 18k yellow gold – and tests as such.
