Edwardian 15.33 Carat Cabochon Sapphire Solitaire Ring, circa 1905
A fabulous and unusual antique sapphire ring. The large sapphire in the centre – certified as natural, unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) – is a deep blue with a bright internal glow. The stone is secured in a silver collet with four sets of double-claws with angular detailing in the gallery, leading to a slender 18k yellow gold shank. A fantastic and wholly unique piece of jewellery.
Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Pear cabochon.
