Georgian Pear Rose Cut Diamond Mourning Bangle, circa 1800
Incredible, and incredibly rare. This wonderfully preserved Georgian mourning bangle features a pear (or tear) shaped rose cut diamond mounted in oxidised silver. Black enamelling around the rest of the bangle, apart from the hinge and the clasp, leads this fine piece an element of the dramatic.
Cut – Pear shaped rose cut.
Colour – I.
Clarity – SI1 (clean to the naked eye).
Carat – Approximately 0.50 carat.
Circa – 1800.
Condition – One very small chip to the enamel and the base of the bangle.
Measurements – The diamond is approximately 7.5mm by 5mm. The bangle is the equivalent to a size 17 (cm)
Metal – The bangle is entirely in silver, apart from the hinge and the clasp which are in 9k gold. Tested.
