Mid Century 2.92 Carat Natural Ceylon Colour Change Sapphire & Diamond Ring, circa 1945
What a sapphire! What a ring! The gorgeous centre stone – certified as unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) – displays a bright, deep blue in daylight and a distinct regal purple in incandescent light. Ten (five each side) bright white transitional cut diamonds are set in the platinum shoulders, leading to a slim and tapering yellow gold shank.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Cushion cut sapphire and transitional cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are F to G.
Clarity – The sapphire is eye clean. The diamonds are VS2 to SI2.
Carat – The sapphire is 2.92 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.60 carat.
Circa – 1940.
Size – R (UK) or 8 5/8 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is 8.4 x 6.2mm. The ring is 10mm at the widest point and sits 6.25mm from the finger
Metal – The diamonds and sapphire are set in platinum. On a 18k yellow gold shank. Tested.
