Mid Century 7.13 Carat Ceylon Sapphire Solitaire Ring, circa 1955
A sumptuous unenhanced sapphire ring. The centre stone – certified as natural, unheated, and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) – is a bright cobalt blue. The stone is secured in a four claw collet which is accented by two pairs of old mine cut diamond set either side. A further six diamonds (three each side) are set in the shoulders, leading to a slim 18k white gold shank.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory stating the sapphire shows no indications of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Oval cut sapphire with old mine cut and eight-cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are G to H.
Clarity – The sapphire is loupe clean. The diamonds are VS2 to SI1.
Carat – The sapphire is 7.13 carat with a total approximate diamond weight of 0.36 carat.
Circa – 1955.
Size – N (UK) or 6.5 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down. Please note, the internal sizing adjuster can be removed if you prefer.
Measurements – The sapphire is 12.6 x 10.6mm. Sits 7.5mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k white gold. Tested.
