Victorian 1.75 Carat Natural Ceylon Sapphire & Old Cut Diamond Ring, circa 1900
An utterly breathtaking Victorian sapphire ring. The central stone – certified as natural and unheated, originating from Ceylon – is the absolute ideal blue; rich, glowing and with clear flashes of cornflower. Eleven white, bright and clean old mine cut diamonds surround the centre stone within a pierced coronet setting. Fine, knife-edge shoulders conform to a wider, D-shaped shank.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory stating the sapphire shows no indications of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Cushion cut sapphire and old cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are G to H.
Clarity – The diamonds are VS. All the stones are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The sapphire is approximately 1.75 carat with a total approximate diamond weight of 0.88 carat
Circa – 1900.
Size – R 1/2 (UK) or 8 7/8 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is approximately 7.6 x 5.2mm The head of the 13 x 11.2 and sits 6.5mm from the finger.
