Victorian 1.97 Carat Natural Ceylon Yellow Sapphire Solitaire Ring, circa 1900
A wonderful, wonderful ring. The yellow sapphire in the centre – certified as natural, unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) – is a sunny, lemon yellow. The stone is secured in a twelve claw yellow gold collet which sits between wide, spear-shaped shoulders, leading to a slender yellow gold shank.
Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Cushion cut.
Clarity – SI.
Carat – The sapphire is 1.97.
Circa – 1900.

Measurements – The sapphire is 8.1 x 6.2mm. Sits 5.1mm from the finger.
