Victorian 3.50 Carat Natural Ruby & Rose Cut Diamond Necklace, circa 1850
A flamboyantly beautiful antique ruby necklace. The nicely substantial yellow gold cable chain is adorned with pear cut ruby drops – all of which are natural, unheated and Thai in origin – which display a deep, strong, slightly purplish red. The stones are rubover set in a yellow gold and sit below ornate silver scroll-work set with four rose cut diamonds. Between each of the ruby drops is a further silver drop, featuring a (slightly larger) rose cut diamond. Extraordinary, impressive and rare.
Accompanied by a ruby report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the rubies shows no indication of heating.
