Victorian 7.80 Carat Old Cut Diamond Brooch, circa 1870
A magnificent Victorian brooch. This regal piece is crafted in blacked silver and is crowned by a large old pear cut at the top in an open backed cut-down setting, with a further fifty-three mixed shaped old mine cuts in an ornate, scrolling design. Backed with a 18k yellow gold pin and safety chain. Treasure from a bygone age.

Cut – Old pear cut at the top with round and cushion shaped old mine cuts.
Colour – The diamonds range from H to K.
Clarity – The pear at the top is VS2. The rest of the stones range from VS1 to SI2; all are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The pear is approximately 1.35 carat, with a total overall approximate weight of 7.80 carat.
Circa – 1870.
Measurements – The brooch is 5.5cm long and 2.4cm at the widest point.
Metal – Silver with an 18k yellow gold pin. Tested.
