Victorian Garnet Horseshoe Necklace, circa 1890
A very pretty Victorian garnet horseshoe necklace, likely converted from a pin. The eleven port-red garnets graduate slightly towards the bottom of the closed-backed horseshoe, and attacked via a pair of fixed bales to a nicely substantial 9k rose gold chain.
Attached to a 16 inch 9k rose gold trace chain
Cut – Cushion cut garnets.
Carat – Approximately 1.00 carat total.
Circa – 1890.
Measurements – The horseshoe, not including the bales, is 14.75 x 16.11mm. The chain is 40cm (16 inches).
Metal – 9k gold. Tested.
