4.05 Carat Old Pear Cut Diamond Solitaire Ring, Platinum
A diamond that is as much a piece of history as it is an item of jewellery. This extraordinary and highly important old pear cut dates from circa 1850 and, graded as it is by The Gemological Institute of America as D colour, displays an impossibly bright and dazzlingly white glow. The stone is sympathetically set in a contemporary platinum mounting, with fourteen (seven either side) eight-cut diamonds of graduating size set in the milgrained shoulders, leading to a flat platinum shank. A treasure.
